Clownbaret. The Pestoff. Tenerife.
Friday, 21 August. 7:00 p.m.
Plaza de las Adelfas. San Andrés.
Clownbaret comes to the Taganana Festival to remind us that simplicity is the key to pure humour. With their classic clown acts, they will make young and old alike laugh. An essential part of the Canary Islands that could not be missing from the programme.
Brian Rodríguez directs this clown company with 22 years of experience, sharing laughter and emotions on multiple stages around the world. In this show, accompanied by Yiyolo Stratto, they revisit some of their funniest family gags in celebration of their birthday. The company's clowns transform themselves in front of the audience and the crazy celebration begins, which, like any birthday, would not be complete without guests and cake.
Coopdecirc, Sccl. ‘Ricky, the tennis coach’. Cataluña.
Friday, 21 August. 8:00 p.m. Plaza de las Adelfas. San Andrés.
Saturday, 22 August. 6:45 p.m. Plaza de Nuestra Señora de las Nieves. Taganana.
If you already know him, you won't be surprised that we've booked him. José Luis Redondo knows how to win over audiences with his innocence and ironic humour, mixed with a good dose of circus. With him, we're guaranteed to have a good laugh at the Taganana Festival.
José Luis Redondo is an artist well known for the entertaining characters he plays in his own circus shows, which combine acrobatics and lots of humour. He is one of the artists who has participated most in CIRCADA in Seville, a leading event of its kind in Europe. In this show, he introduces us to Ricky, the tennis coach. He is blond, athletic, strong, fast, handsome, agile, flirtatious, famous. Or at least that's what he thinks. During the 1980s, Ricky was an elite and successful athlete: Wimbledon, US Open, etc. There was no tournament he couldn't win. But one fine day, an unfortunate doping test put an end to his career. Now he is a very peculiar tennis coach who gives master classes wherever the audience is willing to pay him a little attention, using his great sense of humour and circus techniques, with the sole aim of rediscovering the love that his beloved audience gave him.
