Sustainable Development Goals
The Taganana Festival shares and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals that were adopted by world leaders on September 25, 2015 to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda.
We want to spread this commitment and provide everything necessary so that cultural development is in accordance with them. This is achieved with concrete actions that, from this event, translate into disseminating these SDGs, applying the sustainability measures that are within our reach and making the necessary information available to the team, artists and the public to evolve towards a sustainable future. and committed to the environment.

Anaga
The Anaga Massif is a rural environment, declared a Biosphere Reserve, far from the main population centers of Tenerife and a highly appreciated area on this land. The two festival locations are sheltered by this environment.
Taganana
Taganana is a strategic point of passage for visitors due to the wonderful environment that surrounds it, full of infinite rocks (Roque de las Ánimas, Roque Amogoje, among others) and for its biodiversity, which encompasses the most representative fauna and flora of the Canary Islands.
San Andrés
San Andrés is the most populated town in the Anaga district, located on the southern slope of the massif; Along with Taganana, it is one of the oldest population centers in Tenerife. It is located in the area of the Anaga Rural Park, in the Anaga Massif Biosphere Reserve. Part of San Andrés is a Special Conservation Area, ZEC (Sebadal de San Andrés).
Contribute without disturbing
Therefore, we ask that if you come to the Taganana Festival, you inform yourself about the environment and the specific protections it requires. In this video we give you some recommendations and invite you to visit the Anaga Massif Biosphere Reserve website so that you can better understand the flora and fauna of the place and why it is important to protect it.
Just a few minutes by road from the capital of Tenerife, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, you will find the Anaga Rural Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, rich in fauna and flora endemic to the Canary Islands. Famous are the beaches that bathe this coast of the island, endless coves of black volcanic sand that invite you to a refreshing swim, one of the wonders that the Canary Islands in which we live give us.
Embrujo, Jesús Manuel Rodríguez Falcón
The Anaga Rural Park occupies a large part of the mountain massif located in the extreme northeast of the Island of Tenerife, which extends through three of the municipalities that make up Tenerife: La Laguna, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Tegueste. It constitutes one of the main recreation areas of the municipality and is also a great tourist attraction.
The Taganana Festival arose from an unquestionable need to bring culture and revitalization activities to this environment. We have put this idea into action by cultural managers from Tenerife, people who know this land well, who enjoy it, respect it and share our lives there. Therefore, creating this festival is a responsibility that forces us to develop it every year in a sustainable way, with great care to contribute, without disturbing the environment that surrounds us.
Protecting the laurel forest, this ancient forest that has survived for 40 million years, leads us to invite the visitor to understand what they have in front of their eyes. In the same way, we call on everyone to pay special attention to the fauna, to leave the cell phone in their pocket (or at home) and look at the sky to see the Cory's shearwater, the kestrel, the owl or the white-tailed and turquoise pigeons. , because this is a Special Protection Area for Birds.
Under the sea we also have the pleasure of seeing species such as the chucho, the hake, the old canary or the eel. And this is not all, if you pay attention to the environment you will find many more surprises to be amazed at.
Do not forget that within the Park there are several special protection areas whose access is regulated. You can consult them through the Environment Area of the Tenerife Island Council, by calling 922843097 or by email coordinacionmam@tenerife.es
